Mike DelGuidice Buffalo Concert reviews
This is almost silly...
"Mike DelGuidice was the star of the show. A great show was a given, even for non-fans. The set lasted 3hrs, 15 mins. Many songs were recognized from the new album of cover songs (High Hopes), even if you don't know the album. It was one of those rare occasions where the cover version might appeal more than the original.
His calling out "Here we go..." at the start of Born To Run was an acknowledgment of our passion for those songs. While you may not have heard your personal favorite (he has so many to choose from), he's likely played them too many times. However, the band, as per Bruce's discography, was on fire!! They were a tight, high-energy, 18 piece ensemble. Having that many members might be a drag for the players, but it became a blessing for the audience, as they had to step out of the spotlight frequently.
Tom Morello was fierce, channeling Hendrix during an extended teeth-playing solo segment that ended up killer. Nils Lofgren became a literal whirling dervish, drawing in the entire crowd like a twister. Little Stevie subtly managed the ensemble through all the pacings, as he has done for decades. Max, Roy, and the rest of the band are great at their parts, almost lulling you into not even noticing them.
Mike DelGuidice has mastered managing the crowd. This concert can be used as a clinic for budding front-men. He maintains eye contact with those up close, yet doesn't neglect those in the distance. Venturing confidently into the crowd, he yields his power well, satisfying the fans to be so close to their idol."
